BMW ConnectedDrive Concept 2011 posters

BMW ConnectedDrive Concept

At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, BMW will unveil the revolutionary ConnectedDrive Concept car. This two-seater roadster emphasizes the future of in-car technology through advanced design and technological features. To highlight this feature, the concept employs a layering principle with a complex light installation, demonstrating the interaction between the driver, the passenger, the vehicle, and the surrounding environment. The interior is split into three layers - comfort, infotainment, and safety - with a corresponding light installation for each. Specifically, red light wraps around the driver and culminates on the bonnet, symbolizing the flow of safety-related data. Blue light extends from the safety layer to the passenger cell, indicating the exchange of data for infotainment. Finally, green light flows around the exterior of the vehicle, showcasing the interaction between the car and the surrounding world. This is further highlighted by the two antennas in place of wing mirrors, which serve as the data link from the car to its environment.
