BMW M3 CRT
The BMW M3 CRT (Carbon Racing Technology) is the culmination of state-of-the-art innovation in the areas of drive system, chassis technology and intelligent lightweight design. With the worldwide debut of a new production process for carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) components, it is now possible to incorporate the material into a high-performance BMW M3 Saloon. Thanks to this process, the BMW M3 CRT boasts a remarkable power-to-weight ratio of 3.5 kilograms per horsepower. Under the hood is a V8 engine, delivering a maximum output of 331 kW/450 hp and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds.
The BMW M3 CRT will be produced in a limited run of 67 units, following in the footsteps of BMW M3 GTS, which had 135 examples constructed. To emphasise its exclusive nature, the Saloon comes with a variety of components made using a unique production process, including a cellular carbon honeycomb bonnet and special bucket seats. This production process is also used to make many of the body components found on the BMW i3 and BMW i8 models.
