The 2005 North American debut of the BMW M5 raised the bar to new heights by introducing revolutionary design, advanced technology, and innovative engineering to forge a truly intriguing blend of sports car and luxury sedan.
For 2007, BMW M unleashes an all-new 6-speed manual transmission for the BMW M5. Exclusively available in North America, this no-cost optional transmission grants driving enthusiasts an even greater level of connection to the 500-horsepower V-10 engine through manual control. The pedals, predictably, are arranged for smooth and swift heel-and-toe downshifting.
The manual-equipped BMW M5 also features the M Dynamic Mode (MDM) stability system, found in the Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) car. This system allows drivers to increase longitudinal and lateral velocity on dry roads with limited stability control, however, some driver corrections may be necessary. With the M Dynamic Mode activated, stabilization intervention is decreased.
Other additional elements now included are the Tire Pressure Monitor System, a 4-year BMW Assist subscription (formerly 1 year), and a 4-year Real Time Traffic Information subscription.
