To commemorate the 30-year milestone of the BMW M5 – the first of its kind in the high-performance business sedan segment – BMW has engineered an exclusive special-edition version of the fifth-generation M5 that elevates its performance even further. With only 300 vehicles globally, the BMW M5 "30 Jahre M5" generates an impressive 441 kW/600 hp and maximum torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) with fuel consumption of 9.9 l/100 km (28.5 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions of 231 g/km, making it the most powerful car in BMW's history. The car is capable of reaching 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds. It is adorned in exclusive BMW Individual-inspired styling, with a number of dynamic and comfort-enhancing components, sure to make it a desirable collector's item.
An extensive package of modifications under the bonnet boosts the engine's performance by an additional 29 kW/40 hp, resulting from carefully calibrated engine management and increased charge pressure. This power boost is complemented by the Competition Package, a feature exclusive to the "30 Jahre M5", comprised of a modified chassis set-up, a 10-millimetre drop in ride height, a more direct M-specific Servotronic steering, and harnessed Active M Differential on the final drive to improve traction. Enhanced M Dynamic Mode of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system is specifically attuned for sporty handling.
