BMW Mille Miglia Coupe Concept 2006 posters

BMW Mille Miglia Coupe Concept

Yesterday (May 10), BMW unveiled a brand new concept car ahead of the 2006 Mille Miglia in Brescia, Italy where this year’s contenders were being inspected. The Mille Miglia first began in 1927 and was only rediscovered in 1977 as a annual rally to remember one of the world’s great motor races. All models that previously ran between 1927 and 1957 are admitted for entry. BMW highlighted the 22 cars that are participating in the event with their concept car which reflects and pays tribute to classic racing cars that include the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Touring Coupe that won in 1940. The design and construction of this concept car is a combination of both old and new, it draws inspiration from historic motor sports while incorporating the modified drivetrain, suspension from the BMW Z4 M Coupe and more modern materials into the car that is 23 centimetres longer and 4 centimetres lower than the BMW Z4 production car. Its 20-inch alloy wheels with 245/40 R20 tyres also contributes to its powerful look. BMW still raises the same fundamental concept that was used in the past in their road and race cars: creating dynamic vehicles with the latest assemblies and materials.
