The pursuit of excellence began a new chapter in 1999 with the world premiere of the first BMW X model, the BMW X5. This ushered in the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment and put BMW X models at the forefront of the market. The BMW X3 and BMW X1 continued the brand's legacy by becoming the first jeeps in their class and remain the leading vehicles today. The introduction of the BMW X6 in 2008 made history as the first Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) and has been driving maximum sales since. Now, the BMW X4 Concept showcases the future of the BMW X family, a perfect blend of a BMW X model and a BMW Coupe. Boasting eye-catching proportions, tight contours and expert features, the X4 Concept stands apart with its emotional appeal and dynamism. The X4 production model is expected for launch in 2014 and will be made at the BMW Plant Spartanburg in the USA. This is the same site as the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X3.
