Bugatti Galibier Concept

At the historic site of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. in Molsheim, the company presented guests and opinion-makers with its Bugatti Galibier Concept during its centenary celebration ceremonies as the world's most exclusive, powerful, and elegant four-door saloon. Bugatti's current leader, Dr. Ing. Franz-Josef Paefgen, explained the concept is one of many ideas the organisation is contemplating for its future. The prestigious Bugatti brand has Art - Forme - Technique at its core, from conception to creation. This philosophy was relayed through Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean for producing ever-more powerful engines and more exquisite designs that were in a class of their own in terms of quality, motion, speed, and grace. Aluminium was one of the first materials Bugatti experimented with, applying it to body frames, engine blocks, and wheels. The concept for the Bugatti Galibier has also been formulated with Art - Forme - Technique. Its body is made of dark blue handmade carbon-fibre pieces that twinkle when illuminated. This material is super-strong yet lightweight. The wings and doors are polished aluminium. The design is bound to present both sportiness and modern saloon noteworthy comfort and splendour. Taking cues from the Type 35 torpedo-like shape, that was also continued in the Bugatti Veyron, and the clamshell which Ettore's son Jean utilised in the Type 57, the Galibier updates the Bugatti genes. Nestled beneath both opening bonnets is an 8-litre 16-cylinder engine with two-stage turbocharging, which can operate in flex-fuel mode running on ethanol. High-endceramic brakes, four-wheel drive, and modern suspension, offers the saloon an agile, secure drive. The interior reflects the exterior's elemental styling. The dashboard minimal, and two main instruments in the centre give the occupants the speed and performance status. Added to a bespoke Parmigiani Reverso Tourbillon clock, also comes with a wristband. "Galibier" draws its name from one of the toughest mountain passes in the Tour de France, and was later replicated in the four-door Type 57 for its sporty and luxurious feel. With the Bugatti Galibier concept, the brand continues to define its distinct brand of sophistication and power.
