Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L'Or Blanc

The renowned manufacturer Bugatti has joined forces with the Königliche Porzellan-Manufatur Berlin (KPM) to introduce the world’s first motor car to feature the finest porcelain on its body and in its cabin. Unveiled during an exclusive ceremony in June 2011, this unique version of a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, the ‘L’Or Blanc’, captivates with its abstract exterior design. When we entered the hidden world of the Bugatti Design Studio, a security officer nodded allowing the door to open. In the center of the pure white room lay the brightest of spotlights, illuminating the Grand Sport. The team of designers around Bugatti’s Head of Design Achim Anscheidt was focused and quiet as they walked around their creation, and analysed the reflections on its body. Soon, this vision had come to life — thin blue lines which flowed over the white exterior of this world’s fastest convertible. It was like paying a visit to the atelier of an American pop-art artist. The culmination of the artful design process was the ‘L’Or Blanc’. Reflected by studio lights, it’s this car which redefines the art of design. Pre-painted in a vibrant white tone and using precision Japanese soft tissue tapes which could be stretched and easily torn off, reflection lines were accurately lined up to a length of five meters along the body of the Grand Sport.
