Buick Business Concept 2009 posters

Buick Business Concept

The Buick Business Concept made its global debut at Auto Shanghai 2009, a vehicle designed to showcase the automaker's future vision of "business class on the road." Developed by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), a design and engineering joint venture between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), the Buick Business Concept Vehicle features a contemporary yet timeless design with strong front and rear identities, double-sweep spear belt line, and dynamic presence. "The Buick Business Concept Vehicle has a grand presence and makes a strong statement when it pulls up to the front of any establishment," said Ed Welburn, GM Vice President of Global Design. "The Chinese market and business person have some unique requirements. Our team has responded with an elegant solution to their business and personal needs." Cao Min, PATAC Concept Car Chief Designer, said the design team sought to draw from their heritage outside the automotive industry - from classic shapes to arts and ancient relics - in order to capture an essence of Chinese influence into the modern global design. The vehicle's exterior surfaces reflect this balance, along with the tranquil yet powerful "yin and yang" tones of the interior. The Buick Business Concept Vehicle is a perfect example of classic influences in modern design.
