Buick LaCrosse CSX
The all-new 2005 LaCrosse from Buick is shaping the passenger car lineup with a fresh design, a powerful new engine and upgraded levels of comfort, quietness, and handling. Replacing the current Regal and Century sedans, it's Buick's way of renewing and expanding its vehicle line in the years to come. Classic Buick characteristics are seen in its smooth power, week-long design, and controlled ride.
Three models of the LaCrosse are available - the well-equipped CX, the luxuriously appointed CXL, and the performance-oriented CXS. The CX and CXL have the 3800 3.8L V-6 Series III engine, generating an estimated 200 horsepower (149 kW) and better fuel efficiency with the help of electronic throttle control. It delivers 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway.
The CXS model is equipped with the 3.6L V-6 VVT (variable valve timing) engine, able to make 240 horsepower (179 kW). This all-aluminum engine boasts dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder - delivering 90 percent of peak torque between 1500 rpm and 6000 rpm. Fuel economy? Estimation of 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
