The Buick Rendezvous has been designed for 2006 with greater levels of power, quietness, safety and security than before. The Buick Rendezvous is packed with quality features as standard equipment, making it one of the most comprehensively equipped vehicles in its segment. Except for the CXL Plus, Buick Rendezvous 2006 models now feature GM's 201 horsepower (150 kw) 3500 3.5L V-6 engine instead of the 3400 3.4L V-6.
The top-of-the-line CXL Plus boasts GM's 3.6 V-6 VVT (variable valve timing) engine, offering 242 horsepower (181 kw) with impressive fuel efficiency. The engine boasts 90 percent of its peak torque between 1500 and 6000 rpm for maximum power.
In line with all Buicks, GM's OnStar safety and security system is fitted as standard equipment for all Buick Rendezvous versions in 2006. OnStar boasts a new 6th-generation hardware with digital and analog coverage, voice-activated capabilities, more intuitive continuous digit dialing and superior voice recognition accuracy. Utilizing the GPS satellite network and wireless technology, OnStar services offer core safety features, as well as allowing drivers to make and receive hands-free, voice-activated phone calls using a powerful three-watt digital/analog system and external antenna for greater reception.
