Buick Riviera Concept 2013 posters

Buick Riviera Concept

At the 2013 Auto Shanghai, Buick made its global debut of the new Riviera concept vehicle. The coupe brings together contemporary aesthetics and innovative technologies, like plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion. Developed by GM's Shanghai GM and Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint ventures in Shanghai, the Riviera marks a new era for the Buick brand, which has a rich history of 110 years. Elegant Design Inspired by the Dynamic Nature of Water Taking influence from the Chinese adage "The greatest good is like water," the eye-catching Riviera concept is shaped with sweeping, agile textures. In addition, its deep outlines and beautiful atmosphere are also reminiscent of a flowing river. Ed Welburn, General Motors' Vice President of Global Design, stated, "Riviera is a design study of the future expression of Buick design with its elegant athletic shape, sculptural beauty, and precision execution. It is a great opportunity to share Buick's future design language and technology strategy." Not only that, the Buick symbol, "sweep spear," is presented with three-dimensional elements to resemble a wave in motion. Moreover, making use of unique gull-wing doors, the Riviera exudes a vibrant sophistication. To finish, the car has a jade-inspired finish in ice celadon.
