Buick Verano

The 2012 Buick Verano compact luxury sedan, the brand's latest model, makes its debut at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. It is the third new model to be launched within the last two years and is the first in the compact luxury segment. Slated for sale in the fourth quarter of 2011, the Verano follows Buick's product renaissance, preceded by the Enclave, LaCrosse, and Regal. Packing premium luxury and technology, it comes standard with 10 airbags, a heated steering wheel, and a next-generation radio system with OnStar powered connectivity which keeps the Verano in harmony with driver's smart phone. The Ecotec 2.4L and six-speed automatic powerhouse provides 177 horsepower (132 kW), 170 lb-ft of torque (230 Nm), reaches 0-60 mph in 8.0 seconds, and an estimated 31 mpg on the highway. An optional 2.0L turbo engine will be available in the near future. John Schwegman, vice president of Buick marketing said, "Verano expands our lineup, continues Buick's momentum and gives us a great opportunity to attract a new generation of customers with a product that delivers on their expectations for design, performance and technology. It is a smart choice that delivers unexpected luxury in a compact sedan - and it will compete head-to-head with competitors from Audi and Lexus."
