Cadillac DTS Limousine

The 2006 Cadillac Presidential Limousine is a custom-made and armored version of the Cadillac DTS stretch sedan for the President of the United States. It was first utilized for the inauguration of George W. Bush in January 20, 2005. This luxurious vehicle was custom built by O'Gara, Hess, and Eisenhart, specialist automakers since the 1960s. Although based on a Cadillac DTS, very few of the original components remain. DeVille's compact door handles, for example, have been replaced by a looped model. Its head and tail lights, as well as the wreath-and-crest emblem atop the grille, appear to be stock items. Inside, the limousine features an executive leather interior with a rear foldaway desktop, an extensive entertainment system, and an adaptive massaging cushion system. The President sits in the back, facing a console-mounted secure communications panel connected to several antennas mounted on the trunk lid. The vehicle includes flags of the United States and the President, as well as high intensity discharge (HID) spotlights to illuminate them at night. Its night vision system has been moved to a secret location. The Cadillac is reinforced with 5 inches of ballistic armor and run-flat tires to ensure maximum protection. Its exterior is also sealed against chemical and biological attacks, and the windows are made from a transparent armor too thick to permit any light transmission. The doors and windows are operated with automatic controls, and both are nearly impermeable to outsiders. An accompanying secret communication vehicle and an ambulance with paramedics are also standard for any presidential motorcade.
