Cadillac Eldorado

In 1957, the Eldorado was available in both convertible and Seville hardtop bodystyles and was further distinguished by a revised rear-end design featuring a low, downswept fenderline capped by a pointed, in-board fin, also known as "chipmunk cheeks". It also featured a three section built in front bumper, a V-shaped rear deck ornament on the front fenders and "shark" style fins pointing towards the back. The car had a long list of standard features and came with broad, sculptured stainless steel beauty panels and a trim contour. The year 1957 was especially notable for the introduction of the Series 70 Eldorado Brougham. An ultra-luxury hand-built model, the Eldorado Brougham was derived from the Park Avenue and Orleans show cars of 1953-54 and was the first to feature quad headlights. It boasted tail styling treatments following the Eldorado pattern, a stainless steel roof, air suspension, power seats, a dual 4-barrel V-8 engine, low-profile tires with thin whites walls, automatic trunk opener, cruise control, an array of electric amenities, drum-type electric clock, power windows, forged aluminum wheels and air conditioning. Buyers of the Eldorado Brougham were offered 44 full leather interior and trim combinations and could include items like Mouton, Karakul or lambskin carpeting. Coming at a hefty price of $13,074, four 4-doorhardtop Eldorado Sedan Sevilles were also built that year.
