Cadillac Escalade ESVe Limousine

The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury sport utility vehicle (or SUV) produced by General Motors' luxury brand. Initially introduced for the 1999 model year in response to German and Japanese competition, the Escalade was designed to bring Cadillac into the increasingly popular SUV market. Built in Arlington, Texas in only 10 months after approval, the Escalade filled the void once dominated by the limousine market after the demise of the RWD Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham sedan in 1996. The 2002 redesign saw the exterior fall more into line with Cadillac's new design theme, the first of two Chevrolet-based Cadillacs after the first-generation Seville and mid-1980s Cimarron (based on Nova and Cavalier vehicles, respectively). The current Escalade produces the ESV (a luxurious Chevrolet Suburban) and Escalade EXT, both of which were made in Silao, Mexico prior to the 2006 redesign and now sourced from Arlington, TX. The Escalade has become a popular choice among after-market tuners. Many personalization options can be ordered from a dealer or done by third-party companies, ranging from larger wheels and increased engine performance to custom paint schemes. Unfortunately, this make and model have also become a favorite among car thieves, earning the title of most frequently stolen vehicle from 2001-2003 according to the Highway Loss Data Institute.
