Cadillac Escalade EXT

For the 2007 model year, the Escalade moves to the new GMT900 platform. It was introduced earlier than planned due to decreasing sales, and is joined by a longer ESV version and a new EXT pickup truck. The 2007 Escalade was the official vehicle of Super Bowl XL, and MVP Hines Ward was presented with one of the first Escalades off of the production line. The Escalade utilizes an all-aluminum 6.2 L Vortec V8 engine, with variable valve timing - a new feature for non-overhead cam mass-produced engines. This engine delivers 403 hp (301 kW) and 417 ft·lbf (565 N·m) of torque, and is mated to a six-speed 6L80 Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The new body has a 0.363 drag coefficient, but the large frontal area has an adverse effect on aerodynamics. The rear independent suspension module from American Axle's "I-Ride" was not included in the production model. Production of the redesigned Escalade started in January 2006 at Arlington Assembly. Prices start at an MSRP of US$57,280, however the rear wheel drive version will not be released until August. The AWD version will be available first, followed by the long wheelbase ESV and EXT pickup (the latter from the Silao, Mexico, plant) in June. An exclusive Platinum ESV model will be released in 2007, with GM's Active Fuel Management being introduced in 2008. The Escalade offers a 6.8 second acceleration to 60 mph (97 km/h) and fuel economy is rated at 14 mpg (16.8 L/100 km) in the city and 19 mpg (12.4 L/100 km) on the highway. Engines:
