Cadillac Provoq Concept

The Cadillac Provoq Concept is a modern showcase of GM's innovative E-Flex propulsion system combining the fifth-generation fuel cell technology and a lithium-ion battery to create an electric vehicle without any emissions other than water. This smaller yet more powerful fuel cell power source has enabled the Cadillac Provoq to drive up to 300 miles on one fill of hydrogen, offering an impressive 280 miles on hydrogen and 20 miles of pure, battery electric energy. The hydrogen is stored in two 10,000 psi composite tanks beneath the cargo floor, and the fuel cell stack is located under the hood. When oxygen and hydrogen mix, up to 88 kW of continuous power is produced. Meanwhile, the lithium-ion battery pack stores up to 9kWh of electrical power and provides a peak of 60 kW of power for extra performance. "Cadillac is a perfect candidate for GM's next step in developing the E-Flex platform," comments Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. "Cadillac stands for luxury, design and technology, so it only makes sense that the brand would be propelled by this sophisticated solution. This is Cadillac's commitment to leading the industry with alternative-fuel technology."
