Cadillac SLS
Shanghai GM recently revealed the redesigned Cadillac SLS, joining the Buick Excelle XT in making its first international appearance at the 2009 Guangzhou Auto Show. The SLS presents an upgrade to the previous Cadillac SLS luxury business model, premiering in China back in 2006. With a blend of renowned American-style sophistication and high-grade technology, the new SLS has been exclusively engineered to serve the needs of the business elite. Furthermore, the vehicle marks the premiere of the OnStar feature in a Shanghai GM model.
The new Cadillac SLS is offered in four trims, priced anywhere from RMB 448,000 to RMB 698,000. The model's power is provided by an innovative pair of Direct Injection engines that merge with a six-speed automatic-manual transmission to generate 272 horsepower with 300 Nm of torque and 310 horsepower with 374 Nm of torque, respectively. The engines provide not just potency but also heightened fuel economy with a 9 percent decrease in consumption and decreased hydrocarbon emissions.
An added bonus comes with the platform's introduction of the OnStar safety, security and information service which was activated in early December. The OnStar feature allows for instant access to the OnStar Call Centre, offering 24/7 service.
