The 2012 Cadillac SRX has been refreshed with a new 3.6L V-6 engine under the hood, making it the segment's most powerful standard engine. Combining forward-thinking technology with impressive performance and refinement, it's no wonder the Cadillac SRX has been resonating with luxury crossover customers in a big way. In fact, retail sales of the SRX skyrocketed 150% in 2010 and rose an additional 17.7% in the first half of 2011.
The new LFX engine offers a whopping 308 hp and 230 kW, along with dramatically improved vehicle responsiveness regardless of speed. It's been paired with a Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission, boasting a driver-selectable Eco feature that alters the shift points and throttle progression to optimize fuel economy.
In addition to the engine changes, the 2012 SRX also comes with enhancements to improve the ride experience and extra sound-absorbing material inside the vehicle to make it quieter and more refined. The Base and Sport suspension systems have also been tweaked for better performance.
