The 2006 Cadillac XLR-V sets the new standard when it comes to power, performance, and luxury. Offering cutting-edge technology and rear-wheel drive, it is at once bold and stylish, yet sophisticated and contemporary.
At the heart of the XLR-V is a 4.4L Northstar engine fitted with a positive-displacement intercooled supercharger, which produces 443 horses (330kw) at 6400 rpm and 414 lbs-feet (561Nm) of torque at 3900 rpm (SAE certified*). And since 90% of its peak torque is available between 2200 and 6000rpm, it ensures both powerful performance and luxury. The engine is then mated to the Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission which uses clutch-to-clutch actions for a smooth ride.
In order to give the XLR-V that extra boost of performance, several features have been built in, such as bigger brakes, a recalibrated Magnetic Ride Control (MR), bigger front and rear stabilizer bars, larger wheels and tires, a power steering fluid cooler, and a higher-capacity fuel pump.
On the exterior, you can spot the XLR-V with its polished wire mesh upper and lower front grilles, a V-Series signature, a bold and sculpted hood, unique V-Series and Supercharged badging, black-finish brake calipers with machined V-Series logo, Zingana Wood on the shifter knob, cup holder area, steering wheel, and portions of the door and center console. It is available in three color choices: Infra Red, Black Raven, and Light Platinum.
As for the interior, it is made of supple leather seats with French stitching, perforated suede fabric inserts, aluminum accents, and the same Zingana Wood featured in the exterior side.
Like the standard XLR, the XLR-V is created with great attention to detail, and is handcrafted at GM's award-winning Bowling Green assembly center.
