Chevrolet Blazer 2002 posters

Chevrolet TrailBlazer

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size SUV from the Chevrolet division of General Motors. It was introduced in 1999 as an upscale trim line of the Blazer and became a model in its own right in 2002, with the rest of the Blazer line continuing on. The TrailBlazer was honored with the North American Truck of the Year award. Designed as a replacement for the Blazer as GM's mid-size SUV, the TrailBlazer was constructed on a truck platform with all models offering the option of four-wheel drive with automatic engagement and traditional "4 High" and "4 Low" gearings. This gave it decent off-road capabilities, however the bulky width of the vehicle and lack of suspension travel can create problems during high-camber-variance terrain or when confronting large obstacles. Fortunately, a limited slip differential is available as an option. The TrailBlazer is available with either the LL8 4.2L I6 or the LM4 5.3L V8 engine, depending on the year. A unique feature of the TrailBlazer was the 3-row, 7-passenger EXT version, with a raised roof for easier access to the third row of seats, disguised by standard roof racks. This model was made at the Oklahoma City Assembly Plant until it closed in February 2006, making 2006 the final year for the TrailBlazer EXT. In 2006 a special SS version was introduced that featured the Corvette's LS2 V8 engine and 395 hp and 400 ft·lb of torque. This model reaches 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.5 at 100.0 mph (estimated).
