Chevrolet Camaro COPO Convertible

The last 2012 COPO Camaro was displayed at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas before heading to auction. Chevrolet is selling the Inferno Orange Metallic convertible race car with many special features at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in early January, with the proceeds being donated to the American Heart Association. This supercharged car is considered highly desirable as it is one of only 69 COPO Camaro race cars built for 2012 and its engine matches its number of 69 in the production sequence. Furthermore, this is one of just two convertibles produced, the other being car 68 which is yet to be put on public sale. With an 327 engine and 4.0L supercharger, a unique frame color of Inferno Orange Metallic, added custom graphics and special interior trim, and featuring a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission - this is the only COPO Camaro with all of these features. Additionally, the top is fully operational, although it must be kept up while racing, in adherence to NHRA rules. Jim Campbell, GM U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, commented: “The COPO Camaro program has been a special program and there's not a better way to close out the 2012 racing season than with the final - and most unique - one of the production run. Chevrolet is proud to partner with the American Heart Association at Barrett-Jackson for the sale of this COPO Camaro convertible. It will make a great race car or collector vehicle for a lucky bidder, who will be buying a piece of history.”
