Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible

The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible is making its debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show and will be available for purchase in late 2012. This powerful convertible comes with a wide range of technology and performance that can rival exotic and ultra-luxury models. According to Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer, "This is a car that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time you drop the top - or hit the gas." The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible has an SAE-rated 6.2L "LSA" supercharged engine that delivers 580 horsepower (432 kW) and 556 lb.-ft. of torque (754 Nm). This engine is more powerful than the 2+2 convertibles of some performance icons such as the 2012 Aston Martin DB9 Volante, 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG, 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S, and 2011 Ford Shelby GT500. The horsepower in these models range from 470 hp to 550 hp whereas the torque ranges from 443 lb.-ft. to 510 lb.-ft.
