Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe

The Chevrolet Cobalt was introduced in 2004 as a replacement of the Cavalier and the Prizm, designed to be the compact car of the Chevrolet brand. It was built on the same GM Delta platform as the Chevrolet HHR and Satrun Ion, and featured the Super Sport variant as a high performance option. Its Pontiac variant version, the G5, was sold mainly in Canada (where it was known as the Pontiac Pursuit and later Pontiac G5 Pursuit), the G4 in Mexico in 2005-2006, and the G5 in both Mexico and the United States in 2007-2009. The G5, replacing the Cavalier-related Pontiac Sunfire, was sold only as a coupe in the U.S., while a sedan version was available in Canada and Mexico. All Cobalts and its Pontiac equivalents were made in GM's plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico and Lordstown, Ohio. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Cobalt is classified as a subcompact car. Specifications: The Cobalt has MacPherson struts in the front suspension and a semi-independent torsion beam in the rear. Its wheelbase is 103.3 in (2,624 mm) and its width is 68.4 in (1,737 mm). The coupe weighs 2,681 lb (1,216 kg), while the sedan weighs 2,747 lb (1,246 kg), making its weight average for its class. In 2009, the EPA estimated fuel economy of the Cobalt to be 24 mpg-US (9.8 L/100 km; 29 mpg-imp) city/34 mpg-US (6.9 L/100 km; 41 mpg-imp) highway with automatic transmission and 26 mpg-US (9.0 L/100 km; 31 mpg-imp) city/37 mpg-US (6.4 L/100 km; 44 mpg-imp) highway with manual transmission. It also has an engine output of 155 hp (116 kW).
