Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan
The Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan was first introduced in 2004 as the replacement for the Cavalier and Prizm models. It is based on the GM Delta platform, which is also shared with the Chevrolet HHR and Saturn Ion. It features a MacPherson front suspension with struts, and a semi-independent torsion beam in the rear. It has a 103.3-inch wheelbase, width of 68.4 inches, and a weight of 2,747 lbs.
The Pontiac version of the Cobalt was available in the United States as the G5, and in Canada and Mexico as the G5 Pursuit and G4 respectively. It boasted a high performance Super Sport variant along with a 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan.
The EPA classifies the Cobalt as a subcompact car. The 2009 model is equipped with a 155hp engine and achieves 24mpg city/34mpg highway with automatic transmission and 26mpg city/37mpg highway with manual transmission.
