Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept
At the 2011 Buenos Aires International Auto Show, Chevrolet unveiled the Colorado Rally, a second show truck version of its next-generation global midsize pickup. This adventure-themed vehicle follows the reveal of the first Colorado show truck at the Bangkok Motor Show in April 2011. "These two trucks give a glimpse of the future Chevrolet global midsize pickup, which is of considerable importance to customers around the world. For example, in Brazil, Chevrolet's midsize trucks have been the segment leader for 16 consecutive years," said Brad Merkel, GM Global Vehicle Line Executive.
The Colorado Rally exudes Chevrolet's dependable and durable pickup trucks. Aesthetically, the show truck combines signature design elements with the brand's legendary on and off-road capabilities. "The Colorado Rally portrays Chevrolet's DNA in an off-road version. To develop this vehicle, we conducted extensive research on off-road Motorsports. Every detail of the truck was studied meticulously to ensure maximum authenticity with the rally raid category in mind," says Carlos Barba, GM South America Design Center director.
The Colorado Rally Concept is equipped with a crew cab and a three-dimensional front grille complemented by chrome accents. Its body is finished in a triple-coat pearled white with golden particles, accented by textured charcoal. Additionally, the truck features a skid plate and side moldings in liquid metal and bead lock off-road wheels machined from a single piece of aluminium. The 18-inch diameter wheels, two distinctive surface finishes (machined and polished), and Mud-Terrain T/A 305/60 R18 tires are designed to tackle any off-road obstacle.
