Chevrolet Colorado Cruz

The Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are General Motors' compact pickup trucks that succeeded the Chevrolet S10 and GMC Sonoma in 2004. Isuzu designed the truck and began selling it in 2005, named the "i-Series". Chevrolet Colorado was developed by GM North America, GM Brazil, and Isuzu, based on the GMT355 platform, which is also shared by the Hummer H3. The vehicles are produced at the Shreveport, Louisiana plant. The Colorado/Canyon offer both manual and automatic transmissions, and 2WD and 4WD drivetrain configurations. Standard, extended, and four-door crewcab bodystyles are available and mostly come with the 2.8 L LK5 I4 engine as standard. However, the 3.5 L L52 I5 engine is optional on all other models, and comes with the Z71 package on 4-door versions. This package was later replaced with the LT2 and LT3 editions. The ZQ8 edition offers a lower and more road-tuned "sport" suspension, 17 inch wheels, and colour-matched bumper and grille, as well as low profile fender flares. Meanwhile, the Xtreme edition of the ZQ8 comes with a different front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, fender flares, grille, headlights, and 18 inch wheels. 6-lug rims (6 lugs - 5.5" {139.7 mm} bolt circle) are standard; both the 2WD and 4WD rims have the same backspacing. The Colorado has also been introduced in 2007 with several new features including new generation engines 2.9 L LLV I4 and 3.7 L LLR, new colours Deep Ruby (Sonoma Red in GMC), Pace Blue (Sport Blue in GMC) and Imperial Blue (Midnight Blue in GMC) as well as new tires and wheels. GM has enabled exporting the Colorado to the United States through increased capacity at their Rayong, Thailand plant, an alternative to the closure of the Shreveport, Louisiana plant.
