Chevrolet Colorado LS Crew Cab 2004 posters

Chevrolet Colorado LS Z71 Crew Cab

The Chevrolet Colorado and its twin, the GMC Canyon, were jointly developed by GM's North American operations, GM's Brazilian divisions, and Isuzu. Isuzu joined in the design process and in late 2005 started selling its own version of the Colorado, known as the Isuzu i-Series, in North America. The Isuzu i-Series shares the same powertrain, styling, and equipment with the GMC/Chevrolet twins and differs from Isuzu's global offering. All versions of the Chevrolet, GMC, and Isuzu worldwide are based on the GMT355 platform, which is also used as the basis of the Hummer H3. Most vehicles for the international markets are built at General Motors' plant in Rayong, Thailand and at their plant in São José dos Campos, Brazil. All the North American-market vehicles are assembled at GM's facility in Shreveport, Louisiana. This cooperation between GM and Isuzu to create and offer this light-duty truck in North America harks back to their original deal in the 1970s when the Chevy LUV, a rebranded Isuzu Faster, was first released. The Colorado/Canyon come with either manual or automatic transmission and have either a rear- or four-wheel drive drivetrain and the three cab styles: standard, extended, and four-door crew cab. The base models come with the 2.8 L (171 cu in) LK5 I4 engine, however a 3.5 I5 with the Z71 package is available on four-door models and may be added as an optional feature to all other models. Also, four-door Z71s receive the 4-speed automatic transmission by default. This package was later replaced by the LT2 and LT3 variants. The ZQ8 edition offers a lowered and more road-tuned "sport" suspension with 17 inch wheels, color-matched bumpers and grille, and low profile fender flares. An even higher-end Xtreme edition of the ZQ8 has a different front and rear bumper, side skirts, fender flares, grille, headlights, and 18 inch wheels. This was essentially a continuation of a trim package from its predecessor, the Chevrolet S-10.
