Chevrolet Colorado LS Z71 Extended Cab

The Chevrolet Colorado and its twin, the GMC Canyon, were the result of a collaborative designing effort between GM's North American operations, GM's Brazil operations, and Isuzu. This resulted in Isuzu offering its own version worldwide in 2002, with a further North American model called the Isuzu i-Series following in late 2005. Everywhere the vehicles are based on the GMT355 platform, which is also the basis for the Hummer H3. Manufacturing locations include a General Motors plant in Rayong, Thailand, as well as São José dos Campos, Brazil, while Isuzu vehicles for North American markets are produced in Shreveport, Louisiana. The manual and automatic transmissions available are complemented with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive drivetrains available in standard, extended, and four-door crew cab body styles. Most models come with the 2.8 (LK5) I4 engine, with a 3.5 I5 engine coming with the Z71 package on four-door versions and as an optional choice on the rest. Those 4-door Z71s also get a 4-speed automatic transmission as standard. The ZQ8 edition takes things further with a sport suspension, 17-inch wheels, a colour-coordinated bumper and grille, as well as low-profile fender flares. An Xtreme edition adds 18-inch wheels, a different front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, fender flares, grille, headlights, and results in being an extended version of the Chevrolet S-10 trim package. The SUV's partnership with GM and Isuzu dates back to the Chevrolet LUV of the 1970s, which was a rebadged Isuzu Faster.
