Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is one of the most powerful drop-tops on the market, producing at least 625 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque. Mark Reuss, executive vice president of Global Product Development, stated that it was a "world-class supercar in every sense". It is the first one offered from the factory since the Z06 option package was introduced for endurance racing in 1963, with records showing only 199 orders that year.
Recent advancements in technology made the creation of a modern Z06 Convertible possible, as according to Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter until recently it was not possible to make a lightweight, open-roof structure strong enough to handle the performance of the Z06. The aluminum structure of the Z06 Convertible is 20 percent stiffer than the previous fixed-roof Z06, and its curb weight is nearly the same as the Z06 Coupe. They also share the same chassis tuning, powertrain output, driver technologies and the Z07 Performance Package. This package includes Brembo carbon-ceramic matrix brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, and adjustable front- and rear-aerodynamic components.
