Chevrolet HHR LT 2006 posters

Chevrolet HHR LT

The Chevrolet HHR LT is a retro-look compact crossover SUV that was first showcased at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show as a 2006 model. It was originally designed to fill the slot below the Equinox, and it shares the GM Delta platform with the Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5 and Saturn ION. As far as looks go, the HHR bears a striking similarity to the Chrysler PT Cruiser. It is believed that the design of the HHR was credited to Brian Nesbitt, a former designer at Chrysler, who also served as the chief designer of the Chevrolet for some time. The HHR is assembled at Ramos Arizpe, Mexico and is available for purchase all across North America. Its design has been inspired by the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban, with square fender flares and a hemispherical grille bringing back memories of a bygone era. GM is banking on the success of the HHR, and had set out to sell 60,000 units every year. The pricing of the model varies, starting from US$16,990 and going all the way up to $25,000, with the LT trim coming bookmarked with a standard MP3-capable radio and power driver's seat. It also allows for a large cargo-carrying capacity for a car of its size, thanks to the flat-load floor and fold-flat front passenger seat. The HHR LT comes with two engines — a 2.2L Ecotec I4 producing 143 hp (107 kW) in the LS/LT, and a 2.4L Ecotec I4 producing 172 hp (128 kW) in the 2LT.
