Chevrolet Malibu SS 2006 posters

Chevrolet Malibu SS

The Chevrolet Malibu name moved to the new Epsilon platform for 2004, with the previous model becoming the Chevrolet Classic for rental and fleet use until it was discontinued in 2006. Following this move, Chevrolet released the Malibu in two bodystyles: a standard 4-door sedan and a 4-door Malibu Maxx station wagon. The Malibu Maxx marked the automaker's return to the station wagon market since discontinuing the Chevrolet Caprice in 1996. Initially, the Malibu featured a wide grille with a prominent chrome bar that ran the entire width of the car, designed to resemble Chevrolet's truck fronts. Come 2006, the front was updated with a smaller chrome bar and grill that resembled the grille on the older generation Malibu. The lineup included a 2.2 L Ecotec L61 I4 producing 145 hp (108 kW) for the base model, a 3.5 L High Value LX9 V6 with 200 hp (149 kW) for the LS and LT trims, and a 3.9 L High Value LZ9 V6 with 240 hp (179 kW) for the sedan and Maxx SS models. Starting in 2007, the LX9 V6 was replaced with the LZ4 V6 producing 217 hp (162 kW). There was also a remote starter available on several GM vehicles released in 2004. The Malibu is manufactured at GM's Fairfax #2 factory in Kansas City, Kansas. Engines
