Chevrolet Miray Concept

GM Korea unveiled the Chevrolet Miray Concept at the 2011 Seoul Motor Show to commemorate Chevrolet's illustrious 100-year journey in the brand's newest market. According to GM Korea President and CEO Mike Arcamone, the name "Miray" is Korean for "future," signifying GM's aim to roll out Chevrolet with a fresh outlook. The futuristic roadster was developed at the GM Advanced Design Studio in Seoul and features a hybrid powertrain technology to combine iconic Chevrolet design cues with a future vision.

Classic Exterior

The Miray takes inspiration from various classic Chevrolet models such as the 1963 Monza SS and 1962 Corvair Super Spyder. Its sculpted fuselage is made of carbon fiber and CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), while an angled character line with ambient lighting underneath lends it an aerodynamic look similar to modern jet fighters. Additionally, the Le Mans racer-style scissor doors offer dramatic entry into the interior. On the exterior, the Miray also sports a reinterpretation of Chevrolet's famed front-end with a dual-port grille and LED headlamps, while carbon-fiber spoiler located at the corners help to control the down-force and airflow. Chevrolet Corvette fans will recognize hints of the classic sports car in the design of the front and rear fenders.
