Chevrolet Onix
At the 2012 São Paulo International Auto Show, General Motors do Brasil debuted the all-new Chevrolet Onix, a compact hatchback that is derived from GM’s small car architecture. Assembled exclusively in GM’s Gravataí Complex in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, the Onix will hit Brazilian markets in November and has been designed to be a class leader in terms of connectivity and customization.
Gustavo Colosi, Chevrolet’s Marketing Director, remarked: “We looked to create a car with high levels of design, comfort and technology that will exceed customer expectations.” Accordingly, the Onix includes Bluetooth capabilities and a segment-first Chevrolet MyLink system, which allows the driver to view and access photos, videos, and mobile phone applications on a seven-inch color LCD screen.
The Onix can also be adapted to customers’ individual tastes, boasting three distinct trim levels (LS, LT, and LTZ) along with specially designed sticker sets and “off-the-shelf” art. Each trim is outfitted with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, and is also equipped to run on either 100 percent ethanol or a flex-fuel mixture of gasoline and ethanol.
