Chevrolet SS
The Chevrolet SS is Chevrolet's first V-8, rear-wheel-drive performance sedan since 1996, offering an ideal blend of power and handling that can be enjoyed both on the street and on the track. It is part of a trio of Chevy cars making their debut for 2014, alongside the all-new Corvette Stingray and the revamped Camaro. The SS' engineering is really the foundation for numerous other Chevy vehicles, including the Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle, Holden's VF Commodore, and the 2014 Camaro. It is powered by a LS3 V-8 engine, capable of delivering an impressive 415 horsepower (310 kW) and 415 lb.-ft. of torque (563 Nm), and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel-mounted TAPshift paddles. With a 3.27 final-drive ratio, the SS is able to hit 0 to 60 mph in around five seconds, making it one of the fastest sedans available. Its athleticism is further complemented by an enhanced suspension system made up of MacPherson strut front and independent multi-link rear, an electronic power steering system optimized for sports driving, Brembo front brakes with ventilated rotors and four-piston calipers, and an ensemble of forged aluminum wheels wrapped up in ultra-performance Bridgestone tires.
