Chevrolet Silverado SS Pace Truck
The Chevrolet Silverado range of light-duty trucks was introduced in 1999 as replacements of the GMT400 C/K models. This included the Silverado/Sierra 1500 and 2500 models, which came with a range of cab sizes, including the two-door regular cab, four-door extended cab and the four-door crew cab. Three cargo beds were available, with the 69.2-inch short box being an exclusive option for the extended and crew cab models. In 2002, the trucks saw some design changes and an upgrade to the audio and HVAC controls, while the 2007 production units came with the "classic" moniker.
Light duty
The light-duty Silverado and Sierra models come in a range of options, including the half-ton, SS, and Hybrid variations. These feature the 1500 and 2500 (non HD) models and have the engine choices of the Vortec 4300 V6, Vortec 4800 V8 and the Vortec 5300 V8. In 2000, an additional driver's side door was introduced for the extended cab, making it a four-door vehicle. Output on the 5.3-litre engine increased to 285 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque.
