Chevrolet TrailBlazer

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size SUV from the Chevrolet division of General Motors. It became its own model in 2002 and replaced the Blazer as the company's mid-size SUV. This new SUV was built on a truck platform and offered four-wheel drive with both automatic engagement and the traditional "4 High" and "4 Low" gearings. Additionally, it provided enough ground clearance for off-road activity as well as the option for a limited slip differential. The TrailBlazer is available with a 4.2 L (256 in³) LL8 I6 engine or 5.3 L (323 in³) LM4 V8 engine. It can also be found in EXT form, which has an extended 16 in (406 mm) length and higher roofline for easier access to the third row of seats. For 2006, an SS model was introduced with the 6.0 L LS2 V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette that produces 395 hp and 400 ft·lb of torque. This allows the Trailblazer SS to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 sec (est) and do the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 100.0 mph (est). Production of the TrailBlazer EXT ended in February 2006 due to the reported closure of the Oklahoma City Assembly plant.
