Chevrolet TrailBlazer Vortec

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size SUV from the Chevrolet division of General Motors. It was first launched in 1999 as a more advanced trim line of the Blazer, and eventually became an individual model in 2002. While the Blazer line continued to be produced in certain models, the TrailBlazer trim was discontinued. For its outstanding features, the TrailBlazer was awarded the North American Truck of the Year. It replaced the Blazer as the company's mid-size SUV, although there was a time where both the 2-door Blazer and the 4-door TrailBlazer were available simultaneously (the 4-door Blazer was created only for fleet orders). The SUV is based on a truck platform, and comes with four-wheel drive. It has the ability to switch between "4 High" and "4 Low" gearings, and provides decent ground clearance to enable certain off-road activities. However, it has a wider body in comparison to other vehicles such as the Suzuki Samurai and Jeep Wrangler, and generally less suspension travel - resulting in it tipping more easily when travelling over high-camber-variance terrains or large rocks. Additionally, it doesn't feature locking hubs nor a limited slip differential, but this can be added as an option. Engines

EXT A unique offering of the TrailBlazer line was the EXT version which was able to seat 7 passengers, due to its 16-inch increased length and higher roofline. It was also equipped with roof racks as an extra disguise. The TrailBlazer EXT was put together by Oklahoma City Assembly plant in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The last production of this model occurred on February 20, 2006, as GM had closed the plant, making that year the last for the TrailBlazer EXT. SS A high-performance SS model was introduced in 2006, packed with the Corvette’s LS2 V8. The Trailblazer got a 6.0 L LS2 V8 engine, featuring 395 hp and 400 ft·lb of torque. It has an estimated acceleration rate of 0-60 mph in 5.8 sec, and can do the quarter mile in around 13.5 sec. at 100.0 mph.
