Chrysler 300C

The Chrysler 300 "letter series" was a line of high-performance luxury cars that were built in limited numbers by the Chrysler Corporation in the United States between 1955 and 1965. Each year's model used a new letter of the alphabet as a suffix, skipping "i" so that the top model by 1965 was the 300L. By using powerful engines, the cars became an important part of the muscle car's history. In 1999, Chrysler brought back the "letter series" with an updated version of the 300M. Four years later, in 2004, came a completely new rear wheel drive car for the 2005 model year - the Chrysler 300 - with the top model being named the 300C. This version, however, has been met with disapproval from some classic Chrysler fans for not honoring the legacy of the original series. 1957 300C The 1957 300C is often seen as the classic year of the Chrysler 300 "letter series". This year, new styling was featured with a large front grille and fins. The Hemi engine was also improved to 392 in³ (6.4 L) and 375 hp (280 kW). For those looking for an extra boost of power, there was a select 390 hp (290 kW) option (of which only 18 were built). Additionally, a convertible model was available for the first time, making it even more coveted. The car had 300C badges scattered across the sides, hood, trunk and interior. In total, 1,767 coupes and 484 convertibles were produced.
