Chrysler EV Concept

The Chrysler EV development vehicle is a Range-extended Electric Vehicle that uses ENVI electric-drive technology to provide a zero-compromise, seven-passenger experience in the Chrysler Town & Country minivan. This system combines the components of an Electric Vehicle with an integrated small-displacement engine and generator to enable a longer driving range — equivalent to today's gasoline-powered vehicles. Powered by a 190 kW (255 horsepower) motor, the Chrysler EV accelerates up to 60 mph in nine seconds and can drive 40 miles on all-electric power. Its range is extended to 400 miles with only eight gallons of gas. This makes the Chrysler EV the ideal fuel-efficient family vehicle. The knowledge and experience gained from the Chrysler EV will help build electric-drive systems for more front-wheel-drive applications in Chrysler's portfolio.
