Citroen C-Crosser

Citroën has unveiled details of its new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), the Citroën C-Crosser. Taking its name from the four-wheel drive concept car shown at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, the C-Crosser boasts four-wheel drive capability, exceptional levels of space and comfort. It is also equipped with an advanced, fuel efficient HDi diesel engine and a Diesel Particulate Filter System for reduced emissions. With its elegant proportions (4.64m long, 1.81m wide and 1.73m high including roof bars), the C-Crosser provides enough space to seat up to seven passengers. Its powerful design is marked by the dominant chevrons that stretch across the bonnet into the front headlamps and is also accented by a multiple-ribbed bonnet, wheel arches, chrome detailing and sleek window lines. The C-Crosser is available with Citroën's impressive, new generation 156bhp 2.2HDi engine that produces 380Nm of torque and is capable of running on 30% bio-diesel and a Diesel Particulate Filter System to lower particle emissions. The integral transmission provides drivers with a choice of two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and a lock setting. The SUV is also equipped with MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension, along with 18-inch Michelin tyres for added grip. To ensure flexibility and functionality, the second and third row of seats can be quickly folded away to provide a flat floor and a large load space. The tailgate is split into two sections, with the bottom part being able to support up to 200kg, allowing it to be used as an outdoor seat. The C-Crosser will join Citroën's range of mid- and top-end cars, MPVs and a range of individual small cars, providing customers with a vehicle to suit their needs.
