The Citroën C1 is a city car from the French manufacturer produced since 2005. The joint venture project between PSA Group (Citroën & Peugeot) and Toyota resulted in the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo, slightly different models that are manufactured in the TPCA joint-venture facilities in Kolin (Czech Republic) and first presented at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show.
The Citroën C1 is a 3 or 5-door hatchback with a length of 3.40 meters and 4-seater capacity. It was designed by Donato Coco and it stands out for the lack of an external C-pillar on the 5-door version—unlike the Aygo, the rear doors meet the back window instead of sheet metal, which adds cost to the production.
The C1 is powered by a gasoline 1.0 L 3-cylinder engine with 61.4 mpg (3.8 L/100 km) of fuel economy and a 1.4 L 4-cylinder engine. Furthermore, a 1.4L HDi Diesel with 55 PS (54 hp/40 kW) and 96 ft·lbf (130 N·m) is available.
