Citroen C2 2004 posters

Citroen C2

The Citroën C2 is a supermini produced by the French manufacturer Citroën since 2004. Along with the Citroën C3, the C2 was intended to replace the popular Citroën Saxo, with a relatively different design to grab different sub-markets of the supermini class. It was designed by Donato Coco.

Versions

The L model is the "no-frills" option, featuring black plastic bumpers and basic equipment; Design is body-coloured bumpers and electric windows; SX offers a luxury spec with the added feature of 'rear seat modulation', where the rear seats can be folded down or up against the front seats; Furio, VTR and VTS are the sports models with a quick 110 bhp engine for the VTR and a more powerful 125 bhp engine for the VTS, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 8 seconds; and a 2004 limited edition GT model with a sporty bodykit, bright paintwork and unique white alloy wheels.

Technology

The C3 offers a "Stop & Start" system that can automatically cut the engine when not needed (such as in traffic) to save fuel and restart it briskly to move on again. This system was previously seen in the 1980s VW Polo "Formel E" and the VW Golf MKIII "Ecomatic".
