Citroen C3 Pluriel HDi 70

The Citroën C3 is a supermini that has been produced by the French automaker Citroën since 2002. It had been developed to replace the Citroën Saxo, and the Citroen C2 was its predecessor. Donato Coco and Jean-Pierre Ploué, previously known for designing the Renault Twingo, were the designers of the C3; the former has been the head of the Citroën design team since 1999. The C3 is offered with 1.1 L, 1.4 L and 1.6 L petrol engines, and 1.4 L and 1.6 L HDi diesel engines. All models come with a five speed manual transmission, except for the Stop & Start, which is only available with Citroën's SensoDrive gearbox - a five speed semi-automatic transmission, which has two shifting options; either a fully automated mode, or a paddle-shifted/gear-shifted manual mode. The SX version is the only trim that presents the option of a four speed fully-automatic transmission. In accordance with PSA Group policy, the C3's chassis was also used in the Peugeot 1007. Several components of the C3 are shared with the Peugeot 206, such as the external mirrors. The Saxo was one of the least spacious cars in the supermini class. This issue was addressed by the Citroën C3, which offers one of the most spacious interiors among its competitors. C3 Pluriel In July 2003, the Citroën C3 Pluriel, a highly-adaptable car, was released. This car can be configured as a full or partial convertible or a closed car, due to its detachable roof bars and folding fabric roof. The Citroën C3 Pluriel is a relative to the utilitarian Citroën Méhari and 2CV. 2005 facelift In 2005, the Citroën C3 underwent a mild facelift. The exterior was changed slightly, most notably with clear crystal brake lights. Some minor interior changes were also made, and Citroën added a new 1.6 L 16-valve HDi diesel engine with a rating of 110 bhp. The Pluriel received the same interior upgrades, but stayed otherwise unchanged. Technology Some C3 models have a "Stop & Start" system that can automatically shut off the engine when not in use to conserve fuel, such as when idling, and quickly restart it when ready to continue moving. Similar technology had previously been used in the 1980s Volkswagen Polo "Formel E" and the Volkswagen Golf Mk III "Ecomatic". Engines
