Datsun mi-DO
The Datsun mi-DO is a stylish five-door hatchback boasting a strong masculine design. At a glance, it stands out for its unmistakable "D-Cut" grille, paired with long, slender projector headlamps stretching from grille to fender. While mi-DO shares the same wheelbase and front-drive chassis as on-DO, its slightly shorter overall length gives it an added air of dynamism.
This reliable ride comes well equipped. Driver and passenger airbags, ABS, and a winter pack with heated seats and door mirrors come standard. Engineered to minimize road, engine, and wind noise, mi-DO is powered by a 1.6-liter 8V engine with 87 hp and comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic as an option.
The Datsun brand promises top-tier support for mi-DO customers, with 25 dedicated dealers currently in the country and 75 more planned within the next two years. The car is backed with a 3 year/100 000 km warranty and a car-buying credit program, Datsun Finance. The model names of both cars, on-DO and mi-DO, bring together influences from Japan, England, and Russia. DO symbolizes “moving” in Japanese, and "on" is the Russian word for "he" while "mi" can be heard as the English word "me," which emphasizes the individuality of each car.
