Dodge Super Charger 1968 Concept

The 1968 Dodge Charger, celebrated as one of FCA US' most iconic vehicles, has been remodelled with modern elements of the current Dodge Charger SRT and the Dodge Challenger SRT lineup. This new package spotlights the Mopar brand's "Hellephant" 426 Supercharged Mopar Crate HEMI engine and kit. To power the "Super Charger" Concept, the classic ride is fitted with the engine, mated with a stock T-6060 manual six-speed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat transmission. Done up in "De Grigio" Grey Metallic, honouring its 50th anniversary this year, the vehicle is detailed with an enlarged hood scoop modelled on the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The hood features a combination of fiberglass for the exterior and inner-steel construction from the original. Its pop-up headlamps have been replaced with those from the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Further, door handles and drip rails have been removed, side windows changed to a one-piece, and 1971 Duster mirrors added for a more modern look. The classic 1968 Dodge Charger has been widened with front and rear fiberglass wheel flares painted with the same body colour. The front wheels have been pushed outward two inches to make room for the flares, resulting in a shorter overhang and an extended wheelbase of 119 inches. Custom-milled 20 x 11- and 21 x 12-inch aluminum Devil's wheels from the Challenger SRT Hellcat have been fitted. Last, the vehicle has been lowered 2.5 inches in the rear and 3.5 inches in the front. Brembo six-piston brakes have been added for better performance.
