Dodge Charger SRT8
The Dodge Charger, currently available in the North American Dodge brand, is a rear-wheel drive full-size automobile that is built by the DaimlerChrysler corporation. This new version of the Charger, which was introduced in February 2005 for the 2006 model year, has the same LX platform as the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum; its interior is almost identical to the Magnum. It replaced the Dodge Intrepid as Dodge's full-size sedan, and comes in the form of a four-door sedan, much to the disappointment of former two-door Charger fans. The vehicle is produced at Brampton Assembly in Canada.
EnginesThe Charger SE and SXT have Chrysler's 3.5L V6 and are sold with a starting price of $22,995 USD. It offers 250 hp (186 kW) and 250 ft·lbf (339 N·m) of torque, with a 2.7L available for fleet sales, which makes 190 hp and 190 ft·lbf of torque. The R/T version has the 5.7L Hemi V8 and is sold for $29,995 USD, offering 340 hp (254 kW) and 390 ft·lbf (475 N·m) of torque. Lastly, the SRT-8 model has the 6.1L Hemi V8 and is available at a base price of $35,320 USD, with 425 hp (317 kW) and 420 ft·lbf (569 N·m) of torque.
Daytona R/TIn 2006, the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T was presented at the Chicago Auto Show, featuring a High Output 350 hp (261 kW) 5.7L Hemi engine, a refreshed suspension and tires, and a special front fascia with a chin spoiler. Furthermore, the Daytona R/T is adorned with classic black "Hemi" decals on the hood and rear fender, and is available in two signature colors: "Go ManGo!" metallic orange and Top Banana yellow from the 1970 Charger. It is sold at the price of US$32,495, and only 8,000 will be produced for one year. The release of "TorRed" was announced in January 2006.
Super BeeThe Charger Super Bee debuted at the 2006 New York International Auto Show as a 2007 model. It shares the 6.1L Hemi engine of the SRT-8 but is coated in a special "Detonator Yellow" paint and black decals, and was released with 425 hp (317 kW) and 420 ft·lbf (569 N·m) of torque. Additionally, the Super Bee was made into a model by Jada Toys in mid 2006.
