Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee
The Dodge Charger is a rear-wheel drive full-size automobile offered by the DaimlerChrysler corporation, falling within its North American Dodge brand. The Charger name is a historical one, used for various Dodge models in the past; they have usually been high performance versions. This Charger, which first appeared for the 2006 model year, is based on the same LX platform as the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum, and has a similar interior. The car has four doors, and replaced the Dodge Intrepid as Dodge's full-size sedan.
EnginesThe Charger SE and SXT come with Chrysler's 3.5L V6, boasting an output of 250 hp (186 kW) and 250 ft·lbf (339 N·m) of torque. There is also a 2.7L, for fleet sales only, producing 190 hp and 190 ft·lbf of torque. The R/T version uses the 5.7L Hemi V8O, outputting 340 hp (254 kW) and 390 ft·lbf (475 N·m) of torque, and is priced at $29,995 USD. The SRT-8 model features the even more powerful 6.1L Hemi V8, boasting 425 hp (317 kW) and 420 ft·lbf (569 N·m) of torque, starting at US$35,320.
Daytona R/TThe 2006 Charger Daytona R/T was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, introducing a High Output 350 hp (261 kW) 5.7 L Hemi, as well as upgraded suspension and tires. Additionally, a special front fascia with a chin spoiler and Hemi decals were added for a retro feel, and the Daytona R/T was made available in only two classic colors: "Go ManGo!" metallic orange (from the 1970 Charger) and Top Banana yellow. It was priced at US$32,495, with 8,000 being produced in 2006 only.
SRT-8Before the Daytona R/T, the SRT-8 version of the Charger was revealed at the 2005 New York International Auto Show. It also features the 425 hp (317 kW) 6.1 L Hemi engine and improved Brembo brakes, combined with exterior and interior updates.
Super BeeA Super Bee version of the Charger was presented at the 2006 New York International Auto Show for the 2007 model year. Similarly to the SRT-8, it has the 6.1L Hemi engine, delivering 425 hp (317 kW) and 420 ft·lbf (569 N·m) of torque. It is offered in a unique "Detonator Yellow" paint with black decals, and DUB version was also introduced in mid 2006.
