The Dodge Dakota Quad Cab is a mid-size pickup truck from DaimlerChrysler's Dodge brand which was introduced in 1987. This vehicle was created to be an alternative for those who were looking for something between the compact (Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S-10) and full-sized (Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado) pickups. It has body-on-frame construction with leaf spring/live axle rear end and was the first to feature rack and pinion steering in a work truck.
The redesigned 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab has a length of 3.7 in and a width of 2.7 in. Its platform is shared with the new Dodge Durango SUV. This model comes with a standard 3.7 L PowerTech V6 engine and two 4.7 L V8 engines. It was even nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award in 2000.
